Add automatic motion control to compatible E27 lighting with this PIR motion sensor lamp holder. The screw-in adapter fits between an existing E27 socket and a compatible bulb, with adjustable switch-off delay and ambient-light settings. Switch-control and rotary-control versions are available.

Automatic Lighting Based on Movement
The integrated PIR sensor detects movement within its detection area. When movement is detected and the selected ambient-light condition is met, the connected bulb switches on. It switches off after the selected delay when no further movement is detected.
The lamp holder operates independently without Wi-Fi, an app or a network connection. PIR detection relies on movement, so a person remaining still may not keep the light activated.
- E27 screw-in connection and E27 bulb socket.
- AC 100–240V, 50/60Hz supply.
- Maximum connected load of 60W for compatible LED, CFL or incandescent bulbs.
- Approximate detection range of 3–5m and a nominal 120° detection angle.
- Adjustable delay and ambient-light activation.
- Four model options with switch or rotary controls.
Switch-Control Versions
The switch-control versions provide selectable delay and ambient-light modes. Use the markings on the supplied product to identify each setting.
- Switch-off delay: 16 / 32 / 300 seconds.
- Ambient-light modes: Dark / Low-Light / All-Day.
Dark and low-light settings restrict motion activation according to ambient brightness. All-day mode allows motion activation during both daytime and nighttime.
All-day mode does not mean always-on lighting. Motion detection and the selected delay still control the bulb.

Rotary-Control Versions
The rotary-control versions have separate TIME and LUX adjustments. These allow the delay and ambient-light threshold to be adjusted to suit the installation.
- TIME: approximately 10–300 seconds.
- LUX: approximately 3–2000 lux.
The TIME control sets the delay before switch-off after movement is no longer detected. The LUX control sets the ambient-light level at which motion can activate the bulb. It does not adjust the bulb’s brightness.
Follow the markings on the actual product, and avoid forcing either control beyond its adjustment limits.

Four Model Options
Specify the required model when requesting a quotation. The BD models use selectable switches, while the XN models use rotary controls. Confirm the corresponding housing configuration and installation clearance before ordering.
| Model | Control Type | Switch-Off Delay | Ambient-Light Setting |
|---|---|---|---|
| MSG-2BD | Switch control | 16 / 32 / 300 seconds | Dark / Low-Light / All-Day |
| MSG-2XN | Rotary control | Approximately 10–300 seconds | Approximately 3–2000 lux |
| MSG-3BD | Switch control | 16 / 32 / 300 seconds | Dark / Low-Light / All-Day |
| MSG-3XN | Rotary control | Approximately 10–300 seconds | Approximately 3–2000 lux |
E27 Bulb Compatibility
The adapter has a male E27 screw base for connection to a compatible existing socket and a female E27 socket for the bulb. Compatible bulb types include LED, CFL and incandescent, within the maximum connected load of 60W.
Check the bulb’s actual electrical power rather than its equivalent incandescent wattage. The bulb must also be rated for the available mains supply. The adapter does not convert the supply voltage.
Check that the complete adapter-and-bulb assembly fits the existing fixture and leaves the PIR lens unobstructed. Confirm bulb supply and packaging contents when ordering.

Installation and Initial Setup
The screw-in design allows installation into a suitable existing E27 socket without adding a separate sensor wiring connection. Follow the supplied product instructions and disconnect the electrical supply before installation or adjustment.
- Disconnect the supply and allow the existing bulb to cool.
- Check the condition of the existing E27 socket and confirm compatibility with the adapter and bulb.
- Screw the adapter securely into the socket without overtightening.
- Fit a compatible bulb within the 60W maximum load.
- Select the required delay and ambient-light setting while the supply remains disconnected.
- Restore power and allow the sensor to initialise according to the supplied instructions.
- Test motion activation and delayed switch-off under the intended lighting conditions.
The existing lighting circuit must remain powered for automatic operation. If the socket or wiring requires repair or alteration, have the work carried out by a qualified electrician.
Positioning Tips
- Keep the PIR lens clear of lampshades, covers and other obstructions.
- Choose a position where normal movement passes through the intended detection area.
- Avoid locations close to strong heat sources or changing hot-air flows.
- Test the light-sensor setting under actual daytime and nighttime conditions.
- Confirm suitability before specifying the product for damp, enclosed or outdoor installations.
